The Allgäu region, wellness and more
Holidays with the family
The parents just want to relax for once and enjoy the peace and quiet - and the children want to experience something.
So that everyone can find what they want, at the Biohotel Eggensberger there are small place for everyone to use as a retreat. At the garden spa the upper wellness area is open to children from 6 years of age - at the agreed times stated in the programme - accompanied by their (grand)parents. Here you will find a bio sauna, steam room, tea lounge and mountain view relaxation room. The lower level with the Finnish sauna and the ‘Quiet Room’ is reserved for adults. Splashing around in the natural pool and swimming in the Indoor Swimming Pool is allowed under the supervision of an accompanying person.
For holidaymakers big and small
Space and Fun
Cosy family rooms and apartments with a separate bedroom provide space for family holidays. Cots and bathrobes in various sizes are available. Good news for the holiday budget - Thanks to fixed rates for the children, the overnight prices are reasonable.
To prevent boredom setting in during meals, for our little guests we have set up, in the restaurant, a drawing table and a children's toy kitchen . For the older ones there are board games available in the bar. There are also great offerings for families in the area around the Biohotel Eggensberger. And with the Füssen Card many of them are even free or give discounts.
On the meadow next to the restaurant terrace there is a slide and wooden horses ready for exercise sessions.

Family highlights
- Hohenschwangau - Worth seeing not just because of the Royal castles ; there is also a lot to marvel at in the Museum of the Bavarian Kings . Ask about the guided tours for children.
- the Forest Adventure Centre in Füssen-Ziegelwies with its Alluvial Forest Adventure Trail and Treetop walkway. There is a snack booth and an area with an interesting permanent exhibition and also temporary themed presentations.
- Füssen for little explorers - the High Castle with a picture gallery and a great view over Füssen, then explore the historic arboretum and look for pebbles on the Lech riverbank. The violin maker’s workshop in the Museum of the City of Füssen is worth seeing or else the Reptile Zoo on the Lech riverbank.
Other ideas - Family hikes, cycling tours (bicycles in all sizes are available from Flori's bike rental in town), horse-drawn carriage rides, visits to the cinema in the Alpine film theatre and enjoying Italian ice cream in the old town, and much more.

Winter holidays with children
Families with children, it is also possible to have a winter adventure holiday in the Allgäu region that doesn’t involve skis and snowboards . These families can quite simply grab a sledge or toboggan and glide their way to adventure.
Something that you should definitely experience with children in Füssen in winter is a ride on a horse-drawn sleigh through the snow-covered Alpine landscape, a visit to the royal castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau, a stroll through the romantic old town and the view from the High Castle over the town. Or you can use one of the family-friendly ski areas. There, near the lifts, the local ski schools offer skiing classes for children of all ages.
