A close connection to nature is a personal priority for the Eggensberger family of owners and has shaped the direction of the business for many years. Since 2002, Eggensberger has been operated as a certified organic hotel. Since then, its initiatives in the areas of energy supply, organic cuisine, resource management and mobility have been continuously developed further.
These initiatives include photovoltaic systems installed at the hotel, an on-site battery storage system, charging points for electric vehicles, e-bikes for guests, and the consistent use of organically certified products in the hotel kitchen and for cosmetic treatments.
In this way, personal conviction becomes concrete action—step by step and across different areas of hotel operations.

Recharging the batteries - Solar energy is not only good for the soul - it also recharges the batteries of e-bikes and e-cars.
This is ensured by more than 1000m² of photovoltaic surfaces that capture the sun's rays on the roof and on the south side. The battery storage system in the basement powers the charging points for guests and employees. Thanks to the sophisticated solar power concept and state-of-the-art technology, guests and employees have access to the charging points at all times with 100% green electricity, 70% of which is solar power.

Enjoy a direct view from our 4-star hotel on the Hopfensee Lake and experience the healthy environment at the Kneipp and climatic health resort of Hopfen am See. Thanks to electrosmog reduction and natural sleep systems healthy sleeping and living are easy here.. The organic rooms have been fitted out with pure natural materials and are especially suitable for allergy sufferers.
The restaurant’s menu features organically grown produce. It mainly uses regional produce from the family’s own organic farm and from organic partner farms in the Allgäu region.
And, of course, in the wellness area you will be pampered with high-quality, certified organic Natural cosmetics. Your relaxation time can be perfectly rounded out with various activities in the beautiful Allgäu countryside on the Eggensberger programme for guests.

The reception team will instruct the hotel guests how to use the electric charging points - and you’ll get suggestions for excursions for free.

Make your holiday as active as you like.
Our e-bikes for testing will help you in this. With them, you can cycle perfectly relaxed through the beautiful Allgäu landscape - and when things gets more strenuous then the electric battery will provide extra power.

Sustainable Resource Management
Warmth, light and energy are all essential for our well-being. But unfortunately they are neither easily nor infinitely available. That is why at our hotel, since 2014, our focus has been on the solar power 5-star concept and many other initiatives. This demonstrates how well resource conservation and modern comfort can be combined in a four-star wellness hotel. We would explicitly encourage others to copy what we have done.
